They have no time limit to respond to your DV unless you live in TX. If your DV was timely, w/in 30 days of reciept of the INITIAL dunning letter, then they must cease collection efforts until the debt has been validated. If your DV was untimely, beyond 30 days of the receipt of the initial dunning letter, they do not have to respond or cease collection efforts. I would wait until the 45 day mark, if you do not recieve validation, send a follow up DV notating date and who signed for the CMRRR of the first letter. Are they reporting on your credit reports? How old is the debt? What state do you live in?

Sounds like this is likely out of statute or close to it. FL has a 4 year SOL on Store cards and 5 year on Bank cards. Keep monitoring your reports and see if they report. If they provide validation (doubtful), I'd respond with a FOAD letter.
