recieved summons back in jan of this year so to avoid being sued had to make payment arrangements with the law offices of cohen and slamowitz i was wondering now if i can still make a settlement offer for the balance still remaing i owe about $2,000 still so even though i made monthly payment arrangement with them can i now try and settle to pay this balance can i get a settlement offer to pay less

I haven't been through this personally but did you ever receive any dunning letters prior to being sued on this account? Did you ask for validation on this account? I have heard that slamowitz can be pretty scummy. What to do would really depend on the above questions. Also did you sign an agreement and was the case dismissed?

If you've entered into an agreement with them, why pay the back end that you both agreed to settle. If you agreed toa settlement anout and payment, don't go back and say : I would like to pay off the back end ". If you could have done that in the beginning, thats what you should have done.

Settlement means just that, an agreed upon amount.

I can tell you I tried doing this and it was a no go.Instead they started being very rude and so it never worked out. They stated I agreed to the original terms of making XXX payments until paid in full so they would not work with me but you can always try it never hurts.Good Luck!!
