As a couple we are meeting our minimum payments and our mortgage every month, but are just making it every month.
I found an article online of questions to ask any debt settlement company which I intend to do.
In the e-mail that I received, the rep from Superior Debt said that hey hire another company to do a credt restoration company after you finish their 3 year program. This is a commitment for 6 years.

I am in a program with Superior Debt Services, and have been happy with their progress. I have received two summons from two different creditors who did not want to wait, but both were settled before the court date and dismissed. That is a danger with any settlement program, even if you do it yourself. Superior has a team of negotiators that will do everything they can to keep you out of court even if you do receive the summons. They were very up front with me before I started, and answered all my questions. It is good you have made yourself a list of questions to ask. A good company will not beat around the bush, but tell it like it is, even the bad stuff. Your credit score will suffer as your accounts go into default. Superior does offer the credit restoration when you are done with the program. But be sure you have checked out all your options, including debt consolidation or debt management also, because settlements are an alternative for bankruptcy only, are not a quick fix, and still very nerve-wracking. But if you have no other options, like I didn't, it helps me sleep at night knowing there is a light at the end of my awful tunnel of debt from a business I had to close. Nine accounts in default, and in my first year with Superior, they settled four and I did one on my own. More than half-way done!!

My customer rep is Priscilla, but the lady who spent what seemed like hours on the phone with me, answering all my questions, detail by detail, before I even started the program, was Janet Harper. I am sure she can answer any questions you still may have about being in a program.
