Was the Experian score a FICO or was it a FAKO from their credit
Was the Experian score a FICO or was it a FAKO from their credit monitoring service? It is possible that you would not have a FICO score based on no or little history but the big 3 will all give you their version of a score when you subscribe to their monitoring services. They are not true FICO's.
credit score
Thanks. That might explain the dissonance.
On an Experian credit report secured from freecreditreport.com, it indicates an "Experian PLUS Score." No menton of FAKO. Yet, on the report generated by Kroll Factual Data for our local bank where I submitted a mortgage pre-approval application, the credit score box was 'N/A.'
Since being denied the pre-approval, I have tried securing a retail store consumer credit card - denied and a credit card for individuals with bad credit via online - also denied. I was wondering whether this was due to the very low score or whether they were seeing no score at all. It might be no score at all since I have no consumer credit history but for the auto loan and what I suspect ruined my credit is chronically late payments.
Thank you for the distinction.
