I have 6 online PDL's. I have contacted them all (excpet for one which is listed only as CAN DES on my bank statement and I don't even know who they are), closed my checking account, and now I am just waiting for the ball to drop. Out of all 6, I only owe 2 of them (legally). I owe $120 to one of them and $30 to the other. I haven't heard anything from any of them. How long does it usually take for them to respond?

it depends.CAN stands for cashadvancenetwork.they part of MNE and totally illegal.as long as you know which ones you legaly owe that's good.that way when they start there nonsense you will be prepared.

In North Carolina Internet payday lenders are not legal, either because of restrictive laws, or because the state does not license companies not located in that state, but requires a state issued license to lend. None of your payday lenders are lending money to N.C. residents legally, unless these companies are something other than a payday lender, you should check your contract to see. :)

Well, I am a nervous wreck worried about how all of this is going to go down. I have placed a call into my NC Attorney General's office, but I haven't heard back yet from them. Thank to the above poster for identifying CAN! I logged in, got my loan documents, and an email is headed their way!

To be honest, I wish they would just go ahead and contact me so I can get this ball rolling. I just want it over and done with. At the very least, I have closed my checking account and stopped my direct deposit so I guess the most they can do is aggrivate me to death.

I have one account with Zip19, and even though they didn't resond, about 10 minutes after I sent my email, I was no longer allowed to log into my account on their website.

Just as dawn stated, there is alot of good information on here. Please make sure that you familarize yourself with the posters, there are some that give quality info and others that do not. Although some might not care for my input, I am looking at your position from the the side of the legal lender. If it is appropriate, I will jump in. If not, I won't. I have been in the business for over 10 years with both large and small companies and now have my own stores. I won't steer you wrong, but it is your decision to heed my advise or not.

Well, I have emailed all 6. I also faxed Zip19, my cash now, and Cash Advance Network. I then sent one also to Zip19 via USPS. I still haven't heard from any of them. I just hope my checking account doesn't reopen on Friday when they all try to post. The lady at the bank (Bank of America) said that it might reopen, but as long as I file complaints with the NC Attorney General, that they will work with me. Does anyone have any experience with that?

You may want to go into the bank, speak to the Branch Manager and explain that you MUST have your account frozen so that no attempted debits will re-opn your closed account, tell the Branch Manager there are some illegal companies attempting to steal money from you and this is why you closed out your account. You may also want to do some research on the liability of your financial institution regarding closed accounts.

Well, I guess since I sent out all of my letters and such yesterday, they ALL tried to hit my newly closed out account last night, and of course the stupid bank reopened the account and now I'm $1K in the hole (at Bank of America). The guy said they were all pending transactions though and that they would be returned tonight (or Friday). I am SO AGGRIVATED.

Jady contact your branch manager, give them your ach revocation letters. I'd also suggest letting your branch manager know about the Electonric funds transfer act. I had a hell of a time with BOFA. I had to put a HARD block on one of my payday lenders instead of a stop pay

As far as Bofa, yes they will be returned, but you might have to contact them again about the NSF fees.. through those reversed themselfs after a day. I'd still contact your branch manager though.

And make sure that the account stays CLOSED.

I went in and talked to the branch manager. He said that everything would be reversed on Friday, but we'll see. I have a feeling I am going to be fighting this one for a while. I just wish I had never gotten myself into this mess. One of the PDL's debited $390, and I have already paid them over $900 on a $300 loan, and even according to their records, I only owed them $30 more.

jady, you are probably right. I'm STILL fighting my credit union from back in Sept. The director of Credit Unions here, kept saying I'd have to go back to the payday lenders. I faxed off a complaint to the States AG, and lo anc behold my case was re-opened. Imagine that. Apparently she had seemed to forget the Eletronic Funds transfer act. My credit union has until December 31st to respond.. which I highly doubt they will with it being the holidays.

I'm also still working with my states DFI regarding a seperate issue with Check'n'go. It's almost like another part time job.

I got my Bank of America checking account closed. Everyone was exactly correct, in that you just have to find the right person to talk to. On Wednesday, my account was overdrawn by almost $1400, and once I talked to the right person, they returned all of the money and didn't charge any NSF's and now the account is offiically closed for good.

I have only heard from two of my lenders: Ameriloan and My Cash Now. Ameriloan keeps calling and texting even though I have emialed them about 5 times, and also sent via USPS, but they just keep saying to contact them. No resolution. My Cash Now only called once, and I haven't heard anything else.

How long does it usually take to really get the ball rolling with these lenders after you have sent the requests not to debit and the funds have been denied?
