Because of so many bad decisions and being laid off, I am now in over my head attempting to pay 11 storefront payday loans for about $1000 every payday in interest alone! I have nickeled and dimed a few down to $300, but it is killing me to try to pay these, even working two jobs now! I am depressed and at the end of my rope. All of my other bills are getting behind. Where can I find a company to help me pay these off? Help!

Try to contact maybe your local Consumer credit counseling agency? Or a similar group to help you with getting your bills all in a row and setting up a repayment schedule you can work within. Please don't go the route of taking out another PDL to repay these......the cycle is vicious and the pdl company's make their money off of the interest.......they don't like it when people pay them back right away, they want them to roll them over and over and over so they get all that interest. PDL companys = loan sharks.

Since they are store fronts they may offer an EPP, Extended Payment Plan. If they are a member of CFSA then they are required to. They break up the loan into four equal payments over four paydays. You have to go in an request one before you default.

You can check here and see if they are members. Even if they are not members they still may offer it.

I tried consumer credit counseling, and they could not consolidate the payday loans. What I did, was take out a low interest personal loan, with a longer repayment period to repay the loans. Now, the key is, once you have paid off the PDLs, you have the personal loan to repay. The good thing is having a lower interest rate, and longer repayment. I took a 10K loan for 5 years, enabling me to catch up on all my debts, even pay some off. I was left with about 5k in leftover loan funds, in which I put into a savings account incase of emergencies. I closed my normal bank account, in which is required for taking our PDLs so I would not be sucked into the same trap of PDLs again. I now use a prepaid debit card in which my pay gets directly deposited to..So, I cant take another PDL even if I wanted to. (I dont have a regular checking account.) Taking PDLs cause a vicious cycle for most of us having to use the service. In my own opinion, they should be illegal.
