im looking for a company to help me out of my grave. I am 28 years old and recently had a job change. I am 60k in debt but I have 0 late payments and have a 725 credit score. I need to get myself out of this hole but need help, can someone send me in the right direction?

You need to hire a professional co to reduce and get you out of debt as soon as possible. I hired FreeStar Financial and they are fantastic. I knew I would take a short term hit on my credit score, but the alternative was BK which I did not want to do. My credit score did not matter to me as I couldnt get new credit anyway and I was not going to buy a home in the next couple of years. My goal was to find a company that could get me debt free in 2-3 years and I found it.

Make sure you do your homework before taking action based on advice on this site. Although nearly everyone is trying to help, some have alterior motives.

I don't know your complete cash flow situation however there are a couple of routes to take. A debt management company will have much less of an impact on your overall credit compared to a debt settlement (DS) company. DS programs open a trust account on your behalf. You make monthly payments into this trust account instead of to your creditors. The creditors do not get paid until the amount in the trust account is enough to pay what is negotiated. This may take 6 months to 4 years depending on your situation. This effects your credit as if you just stopped making payments to the creditor. It will REALLY HURT your credit. I do agree with the previous response...it is much better than Bankruptcy.

I would strongly suggest you check out a couple of avenues before making a decision. CCCS, Debt Management and Debt Mitigation. All are helpful but only one will be the best for your situation. Good luck. If you have any further questions please feel free to PM me.

info is right,a lot of scammers out there.a few have even been busted.(laura hess, rich brennen)so it's best to do your homework, don't sign up until you are confident in said company.
