I feel that it would be in the best interest of the guests and members that when a post appears with disallowed content, the content should be deleted or edited with an explanation of why, along with the name of the moderator, rather that vaporizing the entire post. That way the poster and readers alike can be familiarized with the rules and duties of the moderators.
Just before I wrote this an ad post came up with a link. While I was trying to edit it and put a note that would say something like "deleted per forum rules-Frogpatch" it was pounced on and deleted in nanoseconds by one of the two other mods that were on at the time.
Am I right or am I wrong on this?

I deleted the post you were talking about Frogpatch. There were 2 polls for Mitigation America. I deleted one on purpose and was editing the other and deleted it by accident. I agree, they should be edited and the TOS notated but am also with Shazzers. I don't know how many "Hi" and "Hack Again" and misc BS posts I deleted this morning and 3 year old threads revived for posts that add nothing of value to a discussion.

I,also, have deleted. I try to use my judgement, but sometimes there are so many you can't keep up with them all. I also deleted an advertisement for a loan company the other day. I couldn't edit it, it was saying their name every few words, added nothing to the content of the posts, and just plain advertising.

Somtimes people come on and may not know, so I edit and put the reason why. I agree with the others, alot of them post on really old threads just for the sake of spamming or some other nonsense..karen
