I have been getting this man calling me Saying he's from this law firm USL I think. His accent is so heavy can not hardly understand him. The number he keeps calling from are 347-457-3030, 810-671-103, 85610177764, and 206-219-0631. Yes two of them numbers I just typed out is how they appeared on my caller ID. They are telling me I have a law suit file against my SS# which I have not even taken out. They have left threating messages on my voicemail. I even told them if it was for real send me the paperwork in the mail so I may can do something about the fraud. The bad thing about this is that they do have all my info. I am now trying to find out what I can do to stop this. I know they are scammers because they do not act professional on the phone for one, especially hanging up on me and of course the threats. Someone please advice me in what I need to do

I recently started recieving the same calls. I got two back to back this morning. With a different American name & with the same accents. Sorry third world its not going to work. They finally started calling my work today as well our secretary answered & this call was from officer Joseph Garner w/an accent & asked who he was speaking with she gave it to him and he says "oh I had a teacher with that same name". WEIRDO!!!!! They fail to realize some of us Americans do know what legal paperwork looks like and the doooomming knock on the door means that is the real law coming for ya. The call back number they gave was an 888-343-4933, on my caller id it says name unavailable 0000. Just FYI...

I received a call from a so called 'Officer Kevin Brandon' today from Miami, FL 305-507-8390 claiming I was being sued for fraud. They had my social, everything. I reported it immediately, and the so called debt I owe is beyond non existent, something I have never associated with in my life.Keep an eye out, I have filed claims and reported them, they are being traced. Not to mention this individual turns out to have been arrested prior for financial identity theft. If you receive these calls, do not hesitate to protect yourself. Report it immediately. And posing as an officer? Yeah, not so bright. I know legitimate people, these people need to be put away for good.

Can anyone tell me where these people are? I just got a call from a man named Peter Jordan, #701.732.7721. He has a very thick indian/pakistani accent. He told me that I cussed at me and told me that he would continue to call my job and tell them that I am a scam artist and a fraud for not taking care of my payday loan. The problem is I never had a payday loan. I want to find these people, I am not one to call the cops, I will take care of this myself. Just tell me where they are. If they are out of the country, that's Okay, I have a passport. I want this guy bad

If they are going to go by names such as John Wayne, then just before you hang up on htem, call yourself Allah. They usually hang right up.

When they call, simply explain that they are mixed up. They do not work for the FBI. They are probably being investigated by the FBI, but that's about it.

We get at least 10 calls for one of our employees every day. We just put them on hold and let them sit there, now that we know it is a scam. The last time I took information for a message he said he was "Justin Scott from the United States Legal Department" his phone number was 813-713-9903. It is hard to understand him because his accent is so heavy. I sure hope he doesn't get any of my information. They even got some money from our staff's bank account. She got it back but had to file claim and close that account and open a new one. Man what a hassle!

I just recieved my 2nd phone call on my work phone from Officer Davy Jones (wasn't he a part of the Monkees? Or some 60's group??). He's from the State Investigation Department. I told them that there are 50 states in the US he has to be specific. He told me New York, so I said how odd it was that I would be investigated in New York when I've never done any sort of business dealings with anyone FROM New York. He then transfered me to his "head officer" who I immediately told to stop harassing me at my place of employment. Mr. Head Officer told me that he's going to contact my boss.

I've already called my local police department because I'm not going to have these foreigners calling my job and my cell numbers to harass me. I can't wait until they call me back, I'm curious to see what their response is going to be when I tell them I've contacted the police.

I got calls last year from them and they have started back again this week. However the gentleman told me that he was in California and the call back number was 424-226-8148. I told him to not call me anymore and send any requests in writing. I hung up and 2 minutes later someone else called. They are relentless. Let me know if you figure out a way to stop them.

Well the fun seems to have started for me. Two phone calls, first one I wasn't home, left some garbled message I didn't understand. Second time, I answered, got the same scam that they seem to have been using for the last 2-3 years! I owed a loan of some sort, they were taking me to court, even gave me a case number when I asked for it (trying to pull their bluff). Said he was from "United States Legal Investigation Law Department", and I was to be in court at 11:00 tomorrow. When I asked "What court house?" He said "What court?" I said, yeah I needed an address, we have lots of court houses. He said he didn't need to give me that information because he was a Senior Lawyer but would have a Junior Lawyer call me with it "later". He got very upset and rude and raised his voice when I questioned his validity. The number was 845-481-8045 if anyone would like to call and harass him :) He said his name was V (something, very difficult to understand) Czyrus. Had to ask him to spell his name over and over. He even hung up on me and only gave me his name and the company name after I called back twice. I told him I was giving his information to my lawyer and to the police. He didn't seem concerned about it. I have, however, filed a report with the FTC, the Attorney General and also talked to and gave the information to the FBI. My biggest concern is that he had all of my personal info (SS#, date of birth, etc), and that this has obviously been going on for many years.

I've called the attorney general where I reside and the federal trade commission was told do n ot give them any information just hangup the phone and whatever you do DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY! just one of the big scams going on right now.If you want you should check out ftc.gov third party debt practice act. Hope this answer your question because I know I was pretty livid when I recieved the phone call.

I received a voicemail on 10/20/11 from Officer Shawn Williams of the Federal Department of Fraud and Investigation stating that there is a "lawsuit on my name and Social Security ending ****". The individual had a heavy foreign accent (possibly Pakistani or Indian). I called Mr. Williams back at 585-391-7426. At this point, he told me his name was Victor Johnson. He stated that I owed $524.24 to his client, Personal Cash Advance, and that a subpoena would be issued in NY Civil Court tomorrow if I did not pay today by check or credit card.
I asked Mr. Johnson the name of the specific company, as he told me that Personal Cash Advance was the parent company. He would not give me the specific company's name or the amount of the original loan. He told me that $464.24 was owed to the company and $60.00 was court costs. I told Mr. Johnson I would get back with him today.
I then contacted the WV Attorney General who told me that this was a scam and to not give any info to Mr. Johnson. I called Mr. Johnson back and asked for the name of the Secretary of the Federal Dept. of Fraud and Investigation. He game me the name, Mike Anderson, and his phone number is 607-699-9219. I then told Mr. Johnson that I was informed that his company was a scam. He told me to go to www.nyc.gov and search for Department of Investigation (DOI) and I would find the info. I looked at that website and it is for NYDOI. I told Mr. Johnson that I did not believe him and he hung up on me.
I then called the NYDOI at 212-825-5900. Investigator Fox verified that it is a scam and they have received numerous phone calls about these individuals. She then took my name and contact information.
I called back and asked for the address for the Federal Department of Fraud and Investigation. The individual (Mr. Willams/Johnson) told me he could not help me without a name. I gave my name and he told me that his court would not allow him to give me any information because I called it a scam. He then told me not to call the number anymore. I told him to get used to my voice, because he will be hearing it all the time! The phone number has been busy for a while now, but I will keep calling!
I filed a report with the National Consumer League's Fraud Dept. and also with the FBI's Internet Crime Center. I suggest everyone do the same.

I had a guy call me 2 times on the week of 10/5/2012. He claimed he was Officer Jones and that he was from the legal investigation department. He had a very heavy arabian accent. He said my social security number was under investigation and I should call back because that's the only way he could help or I would go to jail. I did call the number back and I said who I was and that I was returning their call. The so called officer then said I could pay $643 and it would be settled out of court. He asked me what my lawyers name and fax number is. I told him I do not have a lawyer. That's when he told me if I don't pay the amount I would go to jail for 6 months for theft by deception and grand theft. I asked how it could be paid and he said moneygram or western union. I asked if I could use a credit card and he said no I had to use 1 of the other methods. I told him I wanted papers to show that they were legit. He got very angry and tried to stop me from asking for legit papers. After I guess I finally made him made mad he said have a good day and hung up and never called back. The phone number is 201-809-1808.

I told them in colorfull language to ----off several times and the fourth time inside of 5 minutes they called I then proceeded to imitate her accent "I do not want to law firm or law suit. I don't think I can do that but I will visit you and pull head out of whoevers a-- came up with the idea to scam my money." she didn't call back. Im debating on what to say next time seeing the ideas I read on here so far. thinking Ill play telemarketer.
