I sent out CA validation letters and just received my first one back, but all they put in the letter is:

Acct#.... and its proceeds were sold, assigned and transferred by the seller to us on (Date). At the time of the sale, the seller provided an electronic file of its business records concerning this account. According to the seller's records, there was dua an dpayable from (my Name) to the Seller in the sum of $XXX.XX with respect to the account as of (May 2007), there being no known un-credited payments, just counterclaims, or offsets against this account at the date of its sale.

Additional Information:

My Name
Last four of my SSN
Date opened
Current balance

Do they have to give me more or is this sufficent?

Should I go ahead and make an offer?

Sounds like they didn't send -anything- from the OC..just a rehash of same old same old.

Send them another record and remind them that proper validation MUST come from the OC, not their own paperwork. Copy back the section of their letter claiming to have 'business records' from the OC and tell them you will need to see the records pertaining to this particular account, that if they actually have them, shouldn't be hard to send you a copy.
