Can debt consolidation stop harassing calls?

Yesterday, I received a call from 775-562-0198. It was a spanish speaking recording. So I hung-up. I went to the site whocalledme.com and did a search on the above number. I soon discover that a number of people have received calls from this number and some of them informed that this is a scam to charge money to your phone. If I would have pressed a key on my phone, I would have got automatically charged.

So I went to the website, reverse phone lookup and discovered that the service provider was Pac-West Telecomm. I then searched their website and found a contact number to complain about the harrassing phone calls from their customer. They did not identify the customer, for privacy reasons, but she informed me that she will call their customer immediately and have them to put me on the 'Do Not Call' list.

So the reason why I am posting this here is because I think they received my number from My Cash Now, PaydayMax, or Credit Protection Depot because the call was placed out of Reno NV...the same placed that I wired money to CPD. So my fellow bloggers, be careful and do not punch any key on your phone. If a number does come up, investigate to find the service provider and perhaps they can assist you with the harrassing calls along with the AG, FTC, etc.
