The only way to be sure about the collection agency that owns your debt is to send a debt validation letter by certified mail to both of them. The collection agency who can properly validate the debt owns your debt and so you can come to a repayment agreement with that collection agency and pay it off. As a proper debt validation the CAs must provide you with a copy of the original signed contract, the details of all outstanding bills and proof that the collection agency has purchased the debt from the original creditor.

Sorry but this is totally wrong. They don't have to provide any of that per the FDCPA. Read sec 809. I'm not sure where you're getting your info from but you have posted incorrect info on many of your posts. You might want to download a copy of the FDCPA and read it.

I've been a member of CIC for a while as well and while I like Christy's forum, some of the info there is just plain wrong. I will rely on the FDPCA and the FCRA and not on jstncredits erroneous information.
