Has anyone had any dealings with Accounts Receivable Technology? Who do they normally collect for? My rep at Town & Country is going to call them but I was just wondering until I hear back from her. I did call them but didn't say much and their computers were down. I told the guy I didn't want to deal with it over the phone and he said we should be getting or have gotten a letter. They are in Woodbridge, NJ, the office that called us. He did give me an address.

I dealt with them on a payday loan and they were pretty good to deal with. They were firm, but open to discussion regarding arrangements and even allowed some flexability when i had some things come up one month and needed to modify the planned payment.

Hi Sue,

Welcome to the forums.

ART collects the debts on which Ellis Crosby was making previous collection attempts. Usually, they collect the debts purchased from Platinum B.

This company has mixed opinions from the consumers end. So, I suggest you to be aware of your legal rights and the FDCPA laws before making any commitment.

Please read this thread for more information on Accounts Receivable Technologies.

If you work out a payment plan, stick to it. Do not miss any of the payments in the middle otherwise you won't get the benefits later that are offered to you in the present period.

Regards
Roxette

Why don't you write up a pay for delete offer and send it to them? All they can do is say no, in which case you send it again in 30 days...sooner or later they will accept. If the account is still within SOL, then send the first letter CMRRR, then send every couple months same way, that way if they decide to sue, you can show the judge you were offering them money.

The sooner it gets to SOL they will more then likely will accept the offer. If they try to give you the BS that the law does not allow them to PFD, write back that you know for a fact that is not true, the law only states they have to report correctly, not that they have to report at all. Besides, if the entry gets disputed with the CRA and they don't respond, it gets removed and they didn't have to do it themselves.

I dealt with them a couple weeks ago, and was able to do a settlement. We did electronic transfer from my bank account, got a confirmation letter. So, you would think that would be the last of them? Not so. Today received a message that they are collecting on a debt! When I called back, their actions were less than professional. I was (1) hung up on when I asked why they called (2) Was put on hold, and never gotten back to (3) Was transferred numerous times to an extension that was not answered (4) was told that they are ready to go home (5) was transferred to a "manager" who did not have the courtesy to answer his line. And this is who GMAC is using? Shame on them.

GMAC is using this scumbag company to collect charges after a lease is turned in. We have settled this with GMAC, why they gave this to ART is unethical. I Know for the rest of my life given that GMAC/Ally Bank/GM is a company I will persuade all my friends/family/co workers not to buy or use any product from these three companies. In the end I will have personally cost them way more that the $74.00 that we are being harrassed about. ART called my wife who is 6 months pregnant at work and she was in tears after getting off the phone with them. I feel that the employees who act/threaten people will get what is coming to them.

I find them horrible, rude and totally not willing to listen. They are harassing me for a debt I do not owe. I have explained to each individual that calls and I have gotten the run around. They will not listen and do not understand that I do not owe. Even suggested to send proof, they hung up. I have been screaming matches with them to no avail. I am filing a lawsuit against them for harassment.

My story is very similar to other posts. My mother turned in a GM lease vehicle over a year ago and we recently received notification that her account has been transferred from GMAC to Nuvell Financial, a whole owned subsidiary of GM. When we called GMAC to inquire about the letter and explained that the account had been closed and that we no longer owned the vehicle, we were told that we had received the letter in error and to disregard it. After that, we began receiving letters from Account Receivable Technologies (ART) stating that we owe money. After several phone calls to ART were told that we needed to have the dealership fax a letter stating that the vehicle had been traded in and that no balance was owed. We plan on faxing that letter tomorrow along with a letter from GMAC stating that the account has been satisfied which we received a year ago. If they continue these harassing tactics after we've submitted all of the documentation, I am going straight to the Attorney General of New York State. My 73 year old mother does not deserve this, especially when all of the obligations have been fulfilled.

I too have the same stories. Rude, took MORE than what was agreed upon, sat on hold for over 15 minutes, never returning calls. I was even call white trash by this company! After that I had my husband deal with them. After he talked with them on his cell phone, the same person called me at home telling me that he and my husband came to an agreement of X amount of money taken out of our checking account and all he needed was the nubmers. I told him I would get back to him. I called my husband and he said that he agreed to a different amount that what that person said. Turns out when they took the amount out of our account, it was the amount that man had stated, not what he & my husband agreed upon. How can that be right? I did not authorize that amount...This was a GM lease for overage on miles. ART claims they do not purchase 'bad debt' well, I think that is wrong because we pulled up our credit report and it is showing as a 'write off'. In dealing with credit (we purchased a home recently) a write off means the company literally wrote off your debt on their books...How can ART tell me that they do not purchase bad debt...I'm so tired of being lied to.

They have been calling my home for 2 weeks at all kinds of hours asking for someone who does not live here and without any explanation on why they are calling. I had tried to get hold of them once before to correct this and gave up after staying on hold. Tonight I finally got through to someone, he seemed to think I should know what company they are calling about, he claimed that he removed my number from his DB. He would not identify what company he works for or who is calling on behalf of. In the end, he was rude and ultimately hung up on me because he would not give me answeres.

OMG. WTF.... This company has NEVER, EVER,,,,,, sent me the info I need to send a pmt in. Just today I had, what I thought, was a BREAK THROUGH in communication and actually rec'd a good phone call about my debt (which I always wanted to pay back, but never could get the CORRECT info or a NICE person to deal with).. Anyway, BOOOOOOOOOOOOM.... Got another harrassing voice mail msg, after I thought I made some headway with the nice man (45 min) conver just today.... So I guess I will have to put my cell # back on CALL-BLOCK....and pay an extra $5.00 per month to have call block service.... NOW ART HAS MY HOME #... NOT GOOD... May have to change that too. YOU CAN NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, and my debt is to S.E. TOYOTA FINANCE. How dare them deal with the idiots!!!!!!! ((( P.S..... I'm right back where I started from no where)))).....

They keep calling. What I know don't deal with this company deal with whatever company they say ... Find out if you owe anything and why. Ask them if it has gone to collections why they did not send u letters. Then ask them to give you the collections number. Let the company give you the information they are full of it

We received a call from ART at our office and the ART phone rep was the most difficult person to work with. When we receive a call and take a message we expect to get the most information for our employer. We get a lot of sales calls that we usually can deal with and determine if we need the product. ART sounded like a sales call but would not answer basic questions like "the purpose of the call". Why couldn't they say "an existing loan or lease"? They hire the most ignorant employees and expect those employees to be effective in carrying out their business. Who ever is running the company is a moron.

They've been calling my home number for years, always asking for the same person -- who is NOT me! I don't know this person either. Anyway, I call back and get answering machines; leave messages and they call daily now. How can I make them stop - the person they are looking for IS NOT ME! Help!
