They told me that I owed over 8,000,but wee wi9lling to allow me to settle for 4000. when asked where did the debt originate they told me that the original paperwork was forwaded to an attorney already and they didn'y know. I thought this was odd. I receivec an email giving me 1 hour to sign a document which would give them authorization to deduct the amout from my credit card. I have not signed anything. I was told that I was sent a letter from which would allow me to settle out of court which supposedly was sent out 30 days ago. I have yet to receive such letter.
What can I do? They didn't supply me with the original name of a collector or that they were licensed in my state.
Marvin, here is just one post about them at http://www.debtconso
Marvin, here is just one post about them at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/collection-agencies/acm-group.html If you use the search feature here, located at the top, under chat live, you will see that they do this often.
They cannot threaten you, and don't be scared into sending them something ,either.
If this isn't a valid debt, they need to prove to you in a debt validation letter what they are talking about.
Also, depending on the state you are in, this could be out of the SOL,if it is valid.
Don't give out bank account info, credit card numbers, or sign anything, until you know this is your debt and it is valid..Good Luck..Karen
