Are you sure the CA was collecting for the OC?? You said transferred to another lender, did you mean another CA.

I believe if the OC sells the account it is showed as transferred or sold on your credit report with a ZERO balance. Most rated at an R9. If the status of the OC account is showing otherwise on your credit report with a balance then dispute it and get it updated.

If the original creditor sold/transferred it, the tradeline for the original creditor should show zero balance as you no longer owe the OC.

I wish I could have known. Both the original creditor and the CA (Palisades) still showing on my credit report that I owe for this debt. I did obtain a consumer attorney to sue CA still reporting the debt, so the attorney will make sure the CA side of it gets fixed but as for the original creditor reflecting the correct status, I'm not sure how.
