I applied for it, but after thinking about it I don't want it. It says in my welcome letter that I won't be charged for any of the fees if I do not make a purchase. Is this true? Do I have to call them to cancel it? I just received it and didn't use it.

Since you have already accepted the card, you need to pay the monthly service charge of $7, one time account set up fee of $29, one time program fee of $95 and annual fee of $48, even if you close down the account. So in total you need to make a payment of $179. I think that if you do not need the card, you should immediately inform them in writing that you want to close down the account. I get 'ads' ( VIA the Web) just about everyday, for Premier CC. I've read their 'rules' about the CC. They SAY it is a 'bad credit' CC and it will "help improve credit." But...GOSH..all the fees and the % rate being sky high..I don't think i want to get it.

Again, a Secured card is *far* better. Getting jewelry at a Pawn Shop (which is listed as an unsecured loan - since they don't give you the jewelry until you pay it off) is *far* better.

Put "First Premier credit card is a rip-off"(without the quotes) into Google and see why it could make matters worse for you and not help.
