My husband's former employer has gotten a few calls from this number over a 2 day period. The "person" can barely be understood, he asks for my husband and then says "he or his attorney need to call us immediately". His name is, "Ali". They haven't called in the past couple of days.

We had 6 illegal and overpaid payday loans and with the advice from this board, sent letters, closed our account, etc. and really haven't heard from any of them with the exception of an email from Cash Transfer Center demanding payment and a PIF from Geneva Roth/Loan Point.

This is the first time anything like this has happened and we're trying to figure out if it has to do with any of the the payday "lenders".

We had loans with:

Geneva Roth/Loan Point (marked PIF by them)
Cash Transfer Center
My Cash Now
Paycheck Today
United Cash Loans
500 Fast Cash

Thanks in advance for any help.

We live in Massachusetts and all the mentioned internet payday loans are illegal. We overpaid on all of them, so we do not owe anything.

I was just trying to find out if anyone knew if this particular number is in relation to any of the "lenders" I mentioned. I'm trying to figure out how far they'll take this.

Thanks.

I've gotten a few similar callson PDLs; they tell me that I or my attorney need to contact them "immediately;" when you do call them, they don't give you the name of the PDL they're representing, they won't give you a valid mailing address "because of the sensitive nature of their business," and they won't send you a letter on company letterhead stating that the debt is indeed legal and valid. I don't know about the other PDLs' you've listed but I THINK that mycashnow and united cash loans are illegal just about everywhere. If not, please someone correct me?
