I have PDL's in Illinois that I was trying to consolidate. I was web searching and found this web site. I had 200.00 put in my checking account that I never approved and the phone calls and text messages are never ending. What can I do? I checked on the Consumer Credit List of Licensees for Illinois and not of the pay day loan companies that I have pay day loans from and licensed to loan in the state of Illinois.

hello, and welcome.being in illinois myself let me ask you for the following.

names of each internet pdl
amount borrowed from each
amount debited by each include fees and rollovers

i can help further with that info.

Hi Paul,
I'm at work :( and my internet banking is down (they're performing maintenance) so I will have to wait until I get home in the morning and get the information that you're asking for. I know one is AmeriLoan (300.00) and one is Magnum (352.00). AmeriLoan took out almost 19.00 last payday as the rollover and Magnum took out 90.00. I think that's right, but don't quote me until I can look. There are 2 more besides those, and the 4th one was put into my bank without my authorization (that I know of anyway.) I know this is my fault, I took out 3 out of 4 of the loans. I have been sick (possible colitis and Lupus) and have missed some work and needed some funds. I was looking online about consolidating and found this site. Oh, I forgot, I have one store front also check into cash... but I'm current there. I read somewhere that Illinois has a limit on payday loans. Is that true?
Thanks for all of the help and support. :)

Paul,
OK here goes:
1. Magnum Loan: 352.00 Paid: 136.82 (rollover)
They said there were taking out 90.00
2. My Cash Now Loan: 200.00 Paid: 18.62 (rollover)
3. Ameriloan Loan: 300.00 (no payments yet)
4. Star Cash Processing Loan: 200.00 I don't remember anytime that I applied for, much less agreed to a loan from these people. But admittedly, I had applied to alot of places, and these may have been one, but I only agreed to the above 3. The money turned up in my checking account on 7/1 and I got the email with the loan documents today. Of course my checking account was over drawn because Magnum took out more than they were supposed to. Grrrrrr
Any help you can give me, I'd sure appreciate it. I need help, step by step. LOL Thanks Paul!
Nancy

first thing is to put your bank account on DEPOSITS ONLY status.see the manager for this.then go to the fifth sticky at the top of this forum.it will give you examples of the letters you need to send these pdl's.once you secure your account.get the letters out.be prepared to file AG complaints as these are pdl's that are hard to deal with.

here is what you owe FYI.
magnum 215.18
mycash now 181.38
ameriloan 300.00
star cash 200.00

get your account secured, and hit that sticky for the letters and how to proceed.that is how i did it.keep us posted.

So Paul, you confirm that those PDL's the OP has are with illegal lenders, right? That is why the OP only owes the difference between original loan amount and amounts paid to date. (For reference and understanding of those following this thread.)

To the OP, secure your account, and if you have direct deposit, open another account and get everything squared away...as to paying back those places, since they are illegal you can pay them on YOUR terms, not theirs...that should give you some breathing room to structure a budget and pay them back...do not feel intimitated by them, anything they try to do to you will not hold up in court.

You hold the cards now!! ;)

precisely DSS.these are all illegal lenders so they owe the principle borrowed.

what DSS means is you send them money orders to pay them.i had AMERILOAN and they didn't really bother me.that could be because USFASTCASH harrased me day and night for a time.there really is no rhyme or reason with thses places.some people say the pdl worked with them while others say what i did.they got harrased.just know they will claim they are legal and will lie.keep us posted.we can advise on that.

Yes, send them money orders...and pay them amounts that YOU can live with...if you can pay 1 PDL place for the full amount you owe one month, then the next PDL the following month, then great! Or, if you pay each of them $20 a month, that's okay too! YOUR terms, not theirs! Your goal is to make sure you are okay...rent, car, food, gas, etc. being paid first. These illegal places are not a priority. Remember, the sooner you pay them back the quicker they'll go away! :P

OK.... well he** is probably about to break loose. I went to the bank and I have emailed all 4 pdl's cease and desist letters. So far the only bounce I've gotten is from magnum advance. But I sent it to 2 different email addresses and the other didn't bounce. I sent a regular email to ameriloan and then there was a box to contact them or leave comments on their web site. I put a cease and desist letter in it too. So they can't say they never got it. :) I'm sure that little trick won't make them happy. I need to go to bed since I work midnights and it's noon here already. I'll keep ya'll informed step by step. Thanks again!

OK well each of the payday loans tried to take money out. My bank wouldn't close my checking account until I paid overdraft fees. My cash now keeps sending me reminders that I owe them money. But everytime I have sent them an email, it gets returned, no matter where I send it to. I lost my job last week (long story) so at least they have no one to call and no paychek to garnish. They can't garnish unemployment can they?
