SOL on credit card - how to find out?

I have a credit card that was probably charged off around 2001-2002. That would make it about 7+ years old. I was wondering if there is a way to find out how to confirm the start date of SOL from the OC so I could bring this to court and have my case dismissed because the SOL has run out.
The current CA has seemed to re-aged to 2005.
Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks for confirming the 6 years. :) Is it a clear cut case?
Thanks for confirming the 6 years. :)
Is it a clear cut case? Over 6 years and the case has to be dismissed? Is there anything to the re-aging?

As long as you did not admit to the creditor that the debt was yours over the phone nor made any payments on the debt after it was charged off you should be fine. Any payments made to any collection agency will of course re-start the clock.

Nope. Never did admit to anything. But how do I go to court and prove the SOL has run out. They have a judgement entry date of 11/2/2005. Is that re-aging? or something else?
I am only finding out about this now in July 09.

If the judgement was granted in 2005, and it was charged off in 2001-2002, it would only be 4 to 5 years old, still within SOL, for the judgement in 2005. If you just found out about this, did you not get served? If, not you may be able to have the judgement vacated.

No I was never served. They tried to serve at my old address this week. It was not accepted but they had a regular mail delivery with Income Execution. It was a certified mail letter - but was never signed for.
When you say I "should" be able to have it vacated due to never being served is there a chance it is not vacated when never having been served?
