If they call, you need to find out who they are and what they want. They are required to send you a dunning letter within 5 days of initial contact, and speaking with them is the only way to get this. It will have contact information that you need to use. Send them a debt validation letter, and they are required to cease collection activity until they validate the debt. The best way to handle this is to communicate, and use the FDCPA to your advantage.
