I am in the program with eds and things are fine. My husband settled 2 cards last month with chase and next month we start our term settlement payment with wells fargo. They have some really nice people in customer service i really like that part of it.

I signed up with Everest back in July 09- they never called me about anything, I would always have to call them to get updates and one time I called in, the rep said "oh I see here that Chase is willing to settle on one of your accounts" and I had never heard from anyone. That made me quite mad. I had the funds available in my account and they seemed to be dragging their feet, this stuff is pretty time sensitive. So I did a LOT of research on DIY settlement and I cancelled with them last week- they gave me my $$ back that was in my global account, which is what I'm supposed to get. I didn't get back my big deposits that they take from you in the first 2 months though, which totalled about $1200, wish I could get that money back now. And 2 days after I cancelled with Everest, I got offers on all 3 of my Chase cards wanting to settle at 40% (I talked to Chase myself and got the settlement myself). Everest never did a thing for me, personally.
Honestly, I know a lot of people say this on this forum, but it's true- you can do debt settlement yourself. Chase was easy for me, I'm sure some of my other creditors will be more difficult since I will be more deliquent by the time I can settle with them. You just have to make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing before you send ANY $$ and keep track of all correspondence. I was paying Everest just over $150 a month for their services for something I could do myself. Now I realize I'm saving $1800 a year and that can go towards a real nice settlement- something worth thinking about, really.

I too am using Eds for debt settlement and I am happy with the service. I have settled some accounts and all for less than what they promised. I also think the fees are reasonable considering how they do settle the accounts like they say they will. My co-worker Larry from Minneapolis started the program as well and he is satisfied. We just recently completed the client survey and we gave them mostly 5 star ratings.
