Advance America

Well, on Thursday evening, they drafted the full $690 from my account, which I had not authorized. I called them and they said that the bank must not have stopped the payment on the checks. The bank said that they HAD stopped payment, and that Advance America simply used my checking account to draft everything. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and the bank has assured me that they will refund my money.
I wondered if anyone had any similar experiences?

Looks like you are going to need to print out the guidelines they must adhere to in order to remain a member of the CFSA, take it into them, and demand they adhere to these guidelines or you will file a complaint and see that they have their membership revoked by not following the rules set forth by this organization, either that, or I would tell them they need to take their sign down in thoer store which states they are members because that is false advertising and bordering on the edge of fraud.

Sounds to me like they did nothing wrong. Thet offered an EPP, but the payments were too high. If the bank did not place a stop payment on the account correctly, how is that AA's fault?
FYI...
The CFSA will not pull the membership of Advance America as you imply.

yep owner's right.an EPP is basically the balance frozen then broken into 4 equal payments.sometimes the payment is too high.then you try to negotiate a payment plan more condusive to your budget, but that is up to the lender to accept.try to work a different payment if you can.

I guess I was assuming the "payment plan" the OP was talking about wasn't an EPP, instead JUST a payment plan of sorts. I should have been more clear. I must have had a stupid attack.
