How late are you on your Amex and have you gotten any offers from them yet? I'll probably have to start missing payments this month on 3 of my 5 cards and Amex is one of them.

I'm currently over 90 days past due. After two months Amex hire a law firm (Wagner & Hunt) to collect the money. Since then, they've been the ones calling me. They keep asking me to make at least the minimum payment or they may start a litigation process. So far they haven't made any offers. What Im going to do is call Amex directly by the end of next week and try to make an offer since they still own the account.

Thanks for the info. I wish you luck with Amex and the rest of your cards as well. I'm nervous about the credit card settlement thing, but I'll probably give it a try first before looking into bankruptcy.
