If not, have them write out a statement, get it notorized at the bank and find an consumer attorney thru NACA. Or if you feel confident enough, send the debt collector an "intent to sue" letter, outlining the violation and a copy of the proof. Should be an easy $1000 in your pocket, unless you wanna go for punitive damages for pain and suffering for the embarrassment of the debt being disclosed to your parents.
