I did some investigating. The guy had an Indian accent. I looked the company up "http://www.carlsmith.com/Bio/AlanOConnor.asp" I called the number. The voice on the VM did not have an Indian accent! The number that the guy left was also some unidentified number in California. I also found this thread from the phone # "http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-909-895-0005". BE WARNED! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY SUCH SCAMS! I am notifying the AG.

If you already have outstanding PDLs, please provide info on which ones, how much you borrowed, and how much you've paid back, and the people here can give you more advice on how to proceed (but these calls sound like out-and-out scams... the threats, the heavy accents, all fit the pattern; please read the sticky on this forum "the scam goes on and on.")
