Have you ever heard of a company called PDL assistance? If you have more than 1 pay day loan they will consolidate the loans and make it one payment once a month. They will contact the pay day companies and let them know what is going on. I have two pay day loans and one is with ACE that was a store front. My check was returned and i did not keep my obligations and now they want it paid in full. The original check was for 800.00 and now they want 1056.00 in full. I have another internet loan for 400.00. Is this a good idea to put into one loan with smaller payments once a month instead of every pay period. Also since my check was returned what can ACE do to me.

thanks

I would advise you to find out if your Internet lender is licensed to lend in your state before you commit to a debt assistance program. The reason for this is; if this Internet lender is not licensed (and many internet lenders aren't) then the chances of them negotiating is slim to none. They are nothing more than criminals and care not about being fair or they would have followed the law to begin with by obtaining a licensed.

If you would like to find out if this lender is legal, tell us what state you are in, howmuch you borrowed and paid back so far and the name of the Internet lender.

As far as the store front lender. If you only have one then you should try to manage it yourself. If they are refusing to deal with you then this is what I would do. I would send them a letter, certified return receipt requested. In that letter I would include a proposal of how I would pay them back, I would also include a good faith payment with a money order to show them I was serious about paying them back. Whether they agree or not I would continue to send them payments just as I outlined. By the time this ever went to court you would most likely have it almost paid off, and even if it does go to court you would have proof that you were trying, which would look good on you in front of a judge. Ignoring it and putting it off will only make matters worse, and the interest will continue to accrue.

Pdl Assistance has been discussed many times in the past. You can read some of the old threads by putting their name in the search box. Here are two such discussions,

Hope it helps.

thank you for your advise. I was just worried that since my check had been returned they would take me to court for a bad check. I live in Texas and the one that i'm most worried about is with ACE. Do you know if they can garnish my wages or how would i find out?
thank you so much for your advise.

They can garnish your wages only if they have a court order, however, if you follow thru on contacting them via a letter and outlining a plan (and it does go to court) it will show the judge you aren't just ignoring your responsibilities.
