Hi,I'm in the early stages of my chapter 7 its not been filed yet.I have surrender both cars and was told it was all right to finance an older car is there any restrictions on doing this or could this cause problems

As a lender, we would not do anything while your BK is still ongoing. That is because we have had debtors take out a loan while they are in the BK process, and then turn around and include us in their BK. So we would tell you to come back after the BK is discharged.... If you say that you have not filed yet, then assuming there is usually lots of delinquency and chargeoffs leading up to a BK, a lender would probably deny the loan based on credit.

If a lender is willing to do it though, then go for it. Honestly, in a no-asset case, the trustee isn't going to argue preferential treatment.
