Rec'd a registered letter from GEMB today stating if I did not make a minimum payment by this due date (9th) that they would place acct with a collection agency. I'm not sure how they count days but my first missed payment was Jan. 9 so I think I am only 60 days maybe they are counting it as 90.
I thought this was a little early for them to send to CA. Is this a bluff? They had earlier offered me a low interest and also a no interest repayment plan but I could not afford to accept either at that time.
I really need to settle a couple of bigger BofA accts. first before I can afford to save the cash to settle this one. Should I go ahead and accept a hardship low payment offer for a few payments to keep it from going to a CA for now so that I can hope settlement with OC later in the year?

May be they would only assign the debt to a collection agency to pursue it on their behalf.
You may accept the hardship program but if you have no means to pay, then it would be useless. You can speak to the creditor once more and explain your situation.
