Checking charge off or close account?

I've searched the forums & haven't found what I'm really looking for. My bank account is about to be closed(charged off) for NSF. Is it possible to close it on my own before hand? I ask this because it would seem that it would look better on my credit report as closed by account holder rather than charged off. Or am I really out of the ball park on this one?

Generally once a bank has determined to close your account, there is no way for you to close it prior to this especially if the account has been frozen.
