My Chase recently charged off and I received a letter from Creditors Interchange and they said "we have received authorization from Chase to initiate collection efforts to recover debt. I am assuming they were assigned rather than bought debt.

Sent debt validation today. Do I need to talk to them before they get validation letter? They have called several times.

Thanks

I will send today. Are they not required to dv since only assigned to them? Again, I am assuming they were assigned not sold.

they are only required to answer if they wish to collect on it. With a lot of agencies, it is too much of a hassle so they close and return it or make requests to escalate the account. the agency I worked for would never hang onto a citibank dv request...it clogged up their inventory and messed with their numbers...so they would usually request that citi refer it to a law office.
