You should contact the credit reporting bureau and send them a copy of the proof that your home was sold in a short sale. The bureau will do some investigation to prove for themselves that the information is incorrect and then fix it.

For my short sale clients, I have them monitor reporting after the fact and since usually there is something messed up with the reporting, I consult with my clients on what steps they can take to have the account removed from credit.info removed.
