Yes, as per law, you can get a credit card as soon as your bankruptcy is discharged. But, I think you've squandered with that too. You could have used the credit card to improve your score significantly.

The reason that it's so easy to get a cc after chapt 7 is because you can't file again for a certain amount of time. So they know if you default they can come after you and you would not be able to claim bk again and wipe them out.

Greetings,
Just my 2 cents worth and I am not being judgmental by any means.
They (the ccc's) feed on the cycle of debt and you unfortunately have fallen back into the trap.
They (the ccc's) mine the bk lists and try to snag folks that are under the impression that a high(er) credit score equals success. Or life without a credit card is miserable.....just look at the advertising schemes.
I digress with a personal story...
My ultimate goal is to have a credit score of zero which means I have no debt.
(I settled 87k for 27k and finally broke the cycle of debt)
I use debit cards from this point on.
No credit cards.
I now return from my digression.
Credit is addictive and it's tough to break the habit.
But you can do it.:D

I have fallen back down "Debt Mountain", that's for damn sure.
I have fallen back down "Debt Mountain", that's for damn sure. I agree with you 100% --- Credit IS addictive. My personality is such that, I actually HAVE what you'd call an "addictive personality". Not a great character trait to possess when debt is knocking at your door, YET AGAIN. I will be debt free, though, in 3 years. I am okay with that. Do you think that 3 years is too long? Let me know. Thanks for your honesty.

Greetings JD,
When those plastic masters of debt come a-knocking at your door again... tell them to go away or you'll melt them with a torch!
You are the boss of the payoff time.
Just put your head into the wind and press on!
Good Luck,
