Is it better to pay for a settlement by cashiers check or can you use a checking account. The checking account that I would be using to pay i know longer use and would have no other money in it except for the settlement money? The benefit to using the checking account is that it posts imediately where the cashiers check you would have to overnight and wait for it to be processed....

Thanks
Maggie

I overnight a cashiers check! AND never heard from them again!
I read over and over this is what you shall do right?
I have no copy of the cancel check or a transaction number.
TG my credit reports reads settle!

They promise me a lettering stating I had settle but it has never arrived!

I was dealing with a guy name Bob, he always called from the same phone number, and the odd thing I could call him and he always answer. UNTIL the day the check arrived and I could see were someone sign for the letter so I called the number to confirm Bob received the check. Different voice answer and said Bob who? "Oh Bob is off today" I say Bob went on to become Bill and change seats with someone else phone #.
Kate has settle ~~~~ NEXT!
Bob had left the building!

The best chance a Homeowner has to accomplish a Principal Reduction is to get a Short Refinance…
For any homeowner upside down in value due to an outside influence of the market and has no other hardship that wants to consider this option and get their principal reset back to today’s market value,

Next time make a copy of the check. Maybe you can get a copy from your bank. I also write a cover letter stating the check is payment in full and keep a copy of the letter. Finally I send everything certified mail so I have a record of receipt.

Keep a paper trail and get the settlement offer in writing! That way in the future no one can dispute the fact that the debt is settled
