I am currently 77 days behind and owe 23K. I got an 45% offer for settlement. I got this offer when i was 55 days late and they are not changing the offer. I have called them every week but they are firm on 45%. They are trying their best to put me in a payment plan but was not interested. What do you guys think..should i wait longer to get a better offer. Any suggestions?

I am also behind on 3 other cards( BOFA, Chase, Discover) with similar balance but no offers on them

Let the citi folks stew a little longer and you'll get to 35%.

It will usually be 120 days or longer before they cave in.
Good Luck and keep us posted.

I got a call from chase on my office number, not sure how they got it. Called back on the same number ( verified the number)...spoke to a lady ..after explaining my financial situation ....she offered me 50% settlement...didn't accept it....after 15-20 mins of negotiations.. she came down to 40%.....

Thought a nice deal and accepted offer...she said she will send the offer via fax..
Expecting the fax tomorrow...

This is my first settlement with any credit card, could you guys tell me what measures should i take when i pay the settlement money..

Thanks to this group for all the suggestions.
