I have already filed a complaint with the BBB about Eastside Lenders as they are illegal in the state of NH, however they responded that the laws of Delaware prevail and the BBB considered the case resolved. Is it worth it to file another claim with the BBB or will I just be hitting my head against a brick wall with that one?

I have a block on my banking account so only debits can go through right now and I can see that Eastside is trying to debit my account daily with different amounts..700, 210, 230. They are a horrible company and need to be stopped but I do not know what my options are at this point.

Any advice?

Have you overpaid them? If so, then I would ignore them. If you supposedly owe a balance, then offer them a payment plan (what you borrowed less what you already paid). I did that but they wouldn't give me a legitimate mailing address, and they eventually sent it to collections wherein I did the same thing.

When they send you e-mails, simply respond by saying they are illegal and that the laws of your state prevail. Keep resending it if necessary. They will eventually turn it over to a collection agency, at which time you send them the same letter via US return receipt mail. I did this and haven't heard from the collection agency since last September.

Aubrey-how long before they turned it over to collections? I still owe them some principal. I've filed a 2nd complaint with the BBB, the first one they closed...even with proof of Desist and Refrain from California. It's been almost a month since they tried to debit and they won't settle. Any help will be great. Also was is awful dealing with collection company? Thank you!

It was about 3-4 months. They kept sending me e-mails and I kept forwarding them my original letter. When the collection agency contacted me via mail, I sent validation request via certified RR. Of course, they never validated. Got a couple of voice mails from CA, but I ignored them. (This was September/October 2009) About a month ago I received an "offer" from CA that Eastside was willing to "settle". I ignored that too.

Once I sent my validation request to the CA, I wouldn't talk with them until they sent validation. Of course they couldn't because pdls are illegal in NJ.:p
