My sister is going through a divorce and neither her or her soon to be X made payments on their credit cards since they separated a year ago..yes they did wrong..but now because my sister has MS I have taken over all her financial affairs, the leisons on the brain are affecting her decisions, so I have taken them over.
I called this company up to try to work something out and they gave me a "supervisor" who was so rude. I was being really nice and trying to see if we could sort something out. I explained the situation and told them that I need to get documents from their company to show when the account was started, as my sister husband is liable for 1/2 since it was taken out during the 25 years they were married.
All the "supervisor" kept on about was that my sister had to pay now and she had to pay the entire amount of $7,44.00. I said she can't do that she is on disability etc. etc. it was like I was talking to a pre-recorded message, like she wasn't listen to a word I was saying. Finally she said look we don't do payments.
So I asked ok what happens next do you take her to court or what? This is when she got really nasty and went off on how they can't do that but that my sister has to pay and then she just hung up on me. I sat there almost in shock.
Any suggestions what my next step should be I still need those documents for my sisters lawyers.

Depends on what being nasty is....there is nothing illegal about being rude or nasty provided it doesnt cross the line to swearing, threatening actions they cannot or will not take or physical violence. You cannot expect customer service from a collection agency since you are not a customer....the client who hired them is the customer.
