I got a call from an Attorneys office..........

What is the name of the debt collector? Which state are you from? Are you sure the PDL company is licensed in your state?

It's a payday loan I got over the internet. The call came from Law Offices Of William G. Sokol Esq. Limited Liability Company in Hammonton NJ. And the loan company is Electronic Payment Processing.

what state are you in?that will go a long way as how to proceed.

next time this place calls demand something in writing,and state you will not speak to them until you get it.then if they do send something.send them a DV(debt validation)letter certified mail return receipt.in fact one member sent them a dv and never heard from them again.

I had asked him if he could give me a address and I would send a money order. Most debt collection places take money order right?

These illegal debt collectors will use many words to prove that they are originally a legitimate law firm. It's just a way to scare common people to pay them.

Make it a point not to give any information about your account to anyone over the phone. If anyone is asking about your account, beware as that might be a scam.

I'm getting a phone call from 727-242-5421 his name is Ricky Nunes from Allen Matkins Law Firm. He claims that my name and social are in trouble of a serious legal matter. Has anyone else received phone calls like this from this number or person?

Do not supply the callers with any information about your account or anything. Inform them you have reported them to law enforcement and hang up. If you haven't already, go ahead and report the calls to local law enforcement, your state's Attorney General and beyond. Look up the local Secret Service branch's information in your area and get in contact with an agent there.

I once had a payday loan, but it got paid off, however, I get calls from various 'law firms' stating I will be taken to court, and to settle, they can help, etc.... I asked them to send me something in writing, they refused and got belligerent. In one of the later calls, they said the name of the payday loan company (which I had never heard of) I called and they said it was all a scam. These people are not legit, they threaten, they curse if you don't believe them, they mostly had accents. Do not fall for this. Somehow, they have my SS# and my bank number. they will say anything to scam you out of money

i am having the same trouble, these people are calling my older parents,brother and sister leaving nasty messages on the recorder with made up case # etc. saying they have been by my house to serve me (liars--lost my job in sept ,been home) when i spoke to the woman(hateful) when i tried asking for for a letter stating all this info she just kept getting loud after i told her until i get it in writting not to call again. about 10 min later my brother called me he had just received a voice mail that i was being taken to jail on a federal case.after i heard the message it was the same woman but used a different name so far she has used 3 different names (it was her all 3 times) Cant get rid of them she keeps calling and when i dont answer she leaves nasty messages (long) on my relatives recorders...what else can i do ???

A Tony Grey called from the above number to 2 of my friends trying to get a social security number, on April 2, 2011. They are scam artist. They had to get this information off of one of those search engines for a payday loan. Because one of these friends of mine I had stop using as reference a least 3 or 4 months ago. So the information they are digging up is not recent. But I am going to contact the authorithy about this matter.
