I think if I had approached my payroll dept and received the type of response you did I would go to that person's supervisor. You need to find out all of the facts, who the garnishment is with, etc. For a garnishment the lender has to take you to court. Also is this an illegal lender in your state? If so, you need to close your bank account and perhaps you've already done so, file complaints with the AG, FTC, and BBB in your state and see if you can straighten out this mess with your payroll dept.
Typically, a summons and related documents must be served upon the defendant personally, or in some cases upon another person of suitable age and discretion at the person's residence or place of business or employment. Yes- i actually let my manager know and she advised to let her know and she will step in because she doesnt understand why I can not get this information. I have not received anything from this company. The last thing I got was an email telling me that I owed $500.00 which I know I do not because I already paid $150.00 so I would owe $150.00. I filed a complaint with BBB and in the process of filing my complaint with AG.
