Hello, I need help. Last wee, I received an email from my payroll dept that L & M Financial LTD (1000cashovernight.com) will be taking 10% of my pay. the payroll dept will not tell me if this was court ordered because I have not received anything in writing. She also has not told me what is the amount they say I owe. I took out $300.00 and they took out two finance charges of $75.00 out of my checking account before it was closed. I have mailed these guys two letters asking them to send me in writing the infromation on what I owe as from what I understand I only need to pay the principal. The address on there website states Rockville, MD but the address my payroll dept gave me was Marco island, Fl. Also- I thought wage assignment was voluntary and I have the option to revoke, the payroll dept said it was essentially a garnishment. Who can I contact to help me with this. They already took $120 out of my paycheck.

Any help would be appreciated

I think if I had approached my payroll dept and received the type of response you did I would go to that person's supervisor. You need to find out all of the facts, who the garnishment is with, etc. For a garnishment the lender has to take you to court. Also is this an illegal lender in your state? If so, you need to close your bank account and perhaps you've already done so, file complaints with the AG, FTC, and BBB in your state and see if you can straighten out this mess with your payroll dept.

Typically, a summons and related documents must be served upon the defendant personally, or in some cases upon another person of suitable age and discretion at the person's residence or place of business or employment. In some cases, service of process may be effected through the mail as in some small claims court procedures. In exceptional cases, other forms of service may be authorized by procedural rules or court order, including service by publication when an individual cannot be located in a particular jurisdiction.

Yes- i actually let my manager know and she advised to let her know and she will step in because she doesnt understand why I can not get this information. I have not received anything from this company. The last thing I got was an email telling me that I owed $500.00 which I know I do not because I already paid $150.00 so I would owe $150.00. I filed a complaint with BBB and in the process of filing my complaint with AG.
