When your account is assigned to a law firm, Citi won't negotiate with you directly. But even if they sue you, you can move to compel arbitration, since Citi has an arbitration clause in their agreements. This may be enough to get you a decent settlement. If you're depressed/stressed out for an extended period, you may want to consider a SSRI for a very good chance to get your emotional life back.
