Yes, there is a time limit. The creditors can sue you till the expiration of Statute of Limitations period. If the SOL period on a debt has expired, then the creditors can file lawsuits against you.

the debt cannot be collected if the number of year has passed as

the debt cannot be collected if the number of year has passed as mentioned. you can consult an attorney if the creditor or CA can still go to court ti get a judgment for repayment of the debt
