Dear Nelly,
My 67 year old mother has been harrassed by RJM for over 4 years now, on a daily basis. She was hospitalized from 3-23-2011 to 3-29-2011 for double pneumonia. While there, she recieved on average two, sometimes more, calls from RJM. I intervened by speaking to them and politely asked them to please not call for at least a week to allow my mother to heal and get discharged from the hospital. They said "certainly", "no problem", which was a lie. They continue to call. I spoke with them three times in less than 36 hours. As you can see, this is heart breaking for me because they are trying to collect on a debt that is over 11 years old that occured during my mothers chemotherapy and radiation treatment for lung cancer. They get her so upset by threatening her that she is shaking and red in the face. When I speak of them threatening her, I do mean the male person that was speaking to my mom actually told her that he would be coming to her home and collecting on the debt personally however they felt necessary, which frightened my mother. I am desperate for advice to protect my mothers health. I am also furious that after RJM found out through me about how they affect her health and what she has already been through, they continue to do this. What should we do??
Thank You,
Kimberly

A large number of people have complaints against RJM and their collection practices. You haven't mentioned the state you and your mother live in. You need to check out whether or not the debt account has crossed the SOL period. If yes, then the debt collectors cannot collect payments on such accounts. In such a situation, you may send them a cease and desist letter and ask them to not contact your mother any further. To know more on RJM Acquisitions, take a look at the given page:
