Hi Soaplady, thanks in advance for your help. Anyway, I am going through my credit report for the first time and see a few items I need to dispute. There is an item labeled "Charged Off", should I dispute the debt with them or the collections agency who is listed later on the report for the same debt. As a matter of fact, there are two different collection agencies showing the same debt. Is that normal? Do I need to dispute with both?

If the OC has sold off the account to a collection agency, then the charged off status will be mentioned in the credit report. The original CA may have sold off the account to some other CA. As a result the names of the two CAs are listed in your credit report. You can pay off the debt and remove the charged off status mentioned in your credit report.
