Following some of the advise from these forums, I recently just sent an ACH letter to a lender by the name of Beacon. Even though they didn't debit my account for two consecutive pay periods after receiving the letter, I closed my bank account anyway. But, in the letter I demanded to receive in writing… #1) conformation that my account with them is marked 'paid in full' and
#2) a refund of over $600.00 due to 'finance' charges that were being debited from my account every pay period. Since they were not licensed in my state, I'm only responsible for the $200.00 loan/principle and nothing else. So basically, I overpaid these folks over $600.000!!! After no response to my first two faxes, I sent them a 3rd fax with copies of complaints I filed with the FTC, Attorney General of my state, and the BBB. I'm mailing one certified mail to their physical address this week.
I guess my question is what do you think my odds are of getting a refund? Also, I have been working with a contingency based law firm. Would they think that this is worthy of a suit?

Thanks!

I figured that would be the case. These folks are shady to begin with so why expect the to do the right thing is correct thinking.
Do you think there is the possiblity of legal recourse or is it not worth going after? I've dealt with a contingency based law firm for an illegal debt collector and came out good.
