Hello we are going through this now. They call in access of 30 times a day. I have finally started to answer the call and not speak. Exactly 6 seconds the call ends. everytime. How do they get away with this practice?

You haven???t mentioned the name of the company. I guess it???s a scam. You need not to worry regarding this matter. If they call you back, then ask them to stop making phone calls to you, otherwise you will take a legal action against them. You can also file a complaint against them to the State Attorney General or FTC. Don???t share any personal information with them.

Why are you assuming it is a scam??? Most agencies, including the reputable ones use dialers. They call until they get a hit, then the call is transfer to a live collector.

You cannot just "tell" them to stop calling you. The FDCPA states you must do it IN WRITING...you cannot take legal action unless you follow the procedures.

This is just WRONG, WRONG, VERY BAD ADVICE!

How can you tell the poster that this is a scam and not to worry? We don't even know who the company is or what they're calling about?

The poster hasn't even spoken to the caller.

Here's my advice. Answer the phone next time they call and ask them what they want!
