I really need some advice. I received a call today at work, secretary took the message, the guy said he was a process server and gave me his agent number. Said he was delivering paperwork tomorrow at my job from a company that has hired him to serve papers on me and gave the secretary a notice number for reference. He wouldn't tell her who he was with or give her his number for me to call. He said he couldn't tell me anything about the company and could only give me that notice number and another phone number that I can call. I looked the number up on a 800 look up site and it looks like the number belongs to Global Assets. Someone from this company called my mother about a week ago and was very rude to her and would not tell her what company she was with, it was the same phone number the guy left today. I feel like a complete loser. I am not good at confrontation, so I'm not good with phone calls like this, which only makes this it worse. Can they come to my job and keep harrassing family and co-workers? Should I be worried about tomorrow? I hope this makes sense.

Hi,

I can understand how embarrassed you must be! But there are high chances that the person can come to your office and deliver you the paperwork. I guess it will be a summons regarding a debt that may not have paid off. If you receive the summons, make sure to answer it. You can contact an attorney and he might help you in answering the summons. The attorney will also guide you regarding further actions that you might want to take in this case.

Take care.

NO ONE will call ahead of time and warn you they are going to come serve you papers. It is NEVER done that way. Its a scam, plain and simple. Do not worry. To check to be sure, call your county court and I can guarantee you there is no lawsuit there. When they call back play with them and call their bluff

I suggest you go to you tube and type "dateline debt trap" The series is 10 parts, but it is VERY informative of the (illegal) lengths debt collectors will go to. Good luck!
