Has anyone settled with old navy recently -- mine is with NCO financial right now -- last conversation I had (yesterday) they are at 60 percent. -- I have 2 months to charge off --

At the end of the conversation the woman said 35 percent would be absolute lowest they would go -- I keep offering 20 percent --

thank you :)

I agree -- 35 percent is good -- most of my settlements were at 25 to 30 percent --

these guys from NCO (old navy collections) called my mom in queens yesterday looking for me on a personal financial matter --

she lives in a different area code from me -- 30 miles away --
I'm in suffolk long island --

what bothers me is that I called into the account on saturday to update them -- then they call my relatives -- I understand they want their money but they said they'd have the acct for another 2 months still and I just spoke with them

Chrissy,
Calling relatives and neighbors is for location purposes. They already knew where you were and how to reach you. Placing a call to family could not have been for a permissible purpose given what you outline in your post.
Do a search for FDCPA attorney+Suffolk (or use other narrow identifiers like your zip code etc.
Speak with an attorney experienced in filing FDCPA violation claims. The vast majority of FDCPA attorneys take cases on contingency. Their legal fees are generally paid by the collector violating your rights.

It will cost you nothing to talk with an attorney practicing in this area of law. You will likely appreciate the experience. It will cost you nothing to have them pursue the case.

Best of Success!

thank you for your post! it was really strange -- I mean she's in a completely different area code and I've been in touch with them monthly if not bi-weekly --

she was really worked up and thought something had happened to me --

I appreciate the advice and I will look into it --

it is not charging off till december so I told them I'd ck in again next month -- they were nice on the phone as was I --

will keep you posted --
