I just talked to someone at TD Bank, and I closed my account but they said that they will accept any debits for 30 days!!! I told tham that it was illegal in NJ to take out money for my pay day loans and the rep actually said NO!! She said that it is not illegal in NJ and that the only way payday loans would be illegal is if they were operating in NJ and I said no you're wrong but they won't budge!! They won't put a block on my account or anything!! I don't know what to do. As far as I'm hearing from this forum is that all payday loans are illegal anywhere they operate in the state of NJ, is that correct? The reps at the bank were so unhelpful! Please I really need some help ASAp! What should I do?

see either the RELATIONSHIP MANAGER,or the BRANCH MANAGER.the reps aren't there to interpret the laws.either manager is the only one you see to get the account closed.go in person.

Did you show the bank your ACH revocation letters/emails? If they allow anything through, the best you can do is to go into the branch and dispute it as a fraudulent debit, since you revoked ACH authorization.

You might want to also try contacting them via the corporate website.

If that STILL doesn't work, I suggest you write a complaint letter to the following people at the bank:

W. Edmund Clark
Chairman of the Board, TD Bank
President and Chief Executive Officer, TD Bank Group

Dana S. Levenson
Chair, Board Risk Committee
President, Quatro Realty Corp.
Principal, The Levenson Group

Bharat B. Masrani
President and Chief Executive Officer, TD Bank

Brian Haier
Executive Vice President and Head, Regional Retail Banking and Direct Channels

Brian G. Smith
Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer
