I would suggest you talk to your bank and ask them what their policy is.

They can levy any bank account with your name on it to fulfill a judgment. If you can prove the funds aren't yours or aren't legally able to be seized, you could have it reversed, but I suggest you avoid that altogether.

Is there an adult family member whose name can go on the account instead of yours? Grandmother? Father?

Proper discovery paperwork was probably not filed with the court. Unless he showed up in court with a paid in full letter, the CA was pretty well guaranteed their judgment. What most people dont realize is even with a dispute, you should pay off the portion you are NOT disputing.
