To be honest with you, now that you live in New Jersey, I don't know if the loans are even enforceable anymore. I know for a fact PDLs are illegal in New Jersey, but since you lived in Ohio when you took them out I don't know how that applies. I'd see what one of the more informed members has to say first. In my experience, those debt settlement agencies are generally not a good idea and are a waste of money if you know what you're doing with negotiating. A debt consolidation loan is different and is a good idea in many cases though.

Cash Call I believe is a legal lender...not sure about the other one.

Cash Call isn't licensed in NJ either and I don't know about Ohio but I'd imagine they aren't. The point is, can they chase her for the massive fees on debts that are not valid in her new state? Something I am wondering... the debts I deal with in my job are, well, valid everywhere in the US :P
